  • CNC Production Machine Operator (2nd or 3rd Shift)

    Agritek Industries is currently seeking Production CNC Machine Operators to join our team.

    As our new Machine Operator, you will produce machine components using lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment. You will learn to apply knowledge from your training to reach proficiency in adjusting the programs, operating, and implementing machine processes while maintaining company safety and quality standards.

    Skills, Abilities, & Physical Requirements

    • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
    • Ability to measure and use basic shop tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
    • Mechanical aptitude in how machines function and are cared for
    • Ability to read and solve simple math problems
    • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping

    Education and Experience

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • CNC Mill & Lathe experience a plus
    • Experience reading Part Prints a plus

    Position Summary

    The Machining Technical Operator is responsible for producing parts, helping with preventative maintenance of the machines, set ups, program adjustments, etc.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • High Mechanical aptitude in how machines function and are cared for
    • Programming and Machine Logic skills
    • Strong working knowledge of parts machining and metal removal practice

    Core Functions

    • Perform set ups, troubleshoot, and maintain high productivity and efficiency standards
    • Work with Machining Supervisor to schedule and execute workload
    • Work with fellow employees, in house departments, vendors and customers as needed
    • Look for Risk and Opportunities within the department along with Continuous Process Improvements
    • Create innovative solutions for time and cost savings in core function areas
    • Develop best practices for Programming and Machining efficiency

    Quality and Administrative Responsibility

    • Perform all documentation and process requirements to comply with ISO:9001 quality standards
    • Review Job books daily for accuracy of data that is documented
    • Action plans for any change, issues, NCR’s or complaints recorded in the journal area
    • Update Job Books and maintain documentation
    • Accurate labor reporting and cost allocation

    Minimum Job Requirements

    • 3-years minimum experience with CNC Mills & Lathes
    • Ability to read and interpret G and M code
    • Proven integrity and moral character
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Good hand/eye coordination and a knack for details and quality

  • CNC Machinist / Boring Mill Operator (2nd Shift)

    Machine Shop Services (a division of Agritek Industries) is a Holland based company with a wide variety of Engineering, Machining and Tooling services and capabilities, including CAD, Boring Mills, 2d-3d CNC machining, Wire EDM, surface grinding along with manual machines.

    We are a small group of highly skilled machinists using state of the art equipment and are currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated 2nd or 3rd shift CNC Machinist / Boring Mill Operator to add to our team.

    Candidates must be able to verify conformance of machined work to specifications using measuring instruments. The ability to study machining instructions, job orders, or prints to determine dimensional or finish specifications, sequences of operations, setups, or tooling requirements is also a must.

    Core Functions

    CNC / Boring Mill Operation

    • Perform close tolerance detailed machine work on multiple axis boring mill
    • Set up and program machinery for boring operation using GibbsCam software
    • Troubleshoot problems efficiently
    • Check work against print and verify that work is within acceptable tolerances
    • Recognize defective tooling, machine malfunctions, and dimensional deviations.
    • Read and interpret quality information instructions.
    • Replace and adjust existing tooling in the machine to maintain production within specifications.
    • Identify areas and make recommendations where the company can make changes to improve safety, methods, part quality, machine and tooling performance, and productivity.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment to meet quality and quantity quotas.
    • Ability to operate one or more machines simultaneously to produce parts as directed.
    • Demonstration of proficiency in shop math, basic print reading, writing, and print reading.
    • Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products.
    • Demonstration of a strong work ethic and a self-starter.
    • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
    • Ability to determine causes of operating errors.
    • Ability to adhere to structured work guidelines and schedules.

    • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and maintenance.
    • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
